Build a ‘find out’ culture, create meaningful learning & improve outcomes.

This CPD is covered over 3 sessions and practically applies adaptive teaching principles and highlights weaknesses in whole school systems, curriculum, teaching and assessment which can hinder progress for children, especially vulnerable children. The sessions provide practical strategic/operational solutions which build a find out culture, create meaningful learning and improve outcomes.

Aimed at leaders with responsibility for whole school improvement, strategic decisions and trainee teacher providers. Examples are from a secondary school perspective, however, adaptive teaching principles apply to any keystage of learning.

SESSION 1  - WHY FIND OUT?

Find out to create meaningful learning and address weaknesses in curriculum, teaching and assessment which prevent learning from happening and fuel disruption. Discover how a true find out culture is proactive not reactive.

SESSION 2 - HOW TO FIND OUT?

Practical application of Stage 1 of adaptive teaching, using data insightfully and implementing strategies which allow leaders to find and address problems before undetected problems find them. Explore practical solutions for building a whole school ‘find out’ culture where everyone is detecting and addressing issues before escalating into unmanageable situations. Missing Session 1 will create a gap in adaptive teaching knowledge.

​​SESSION 3 - FIND OUT MORE  & FIND OUT FAST

Dynamically assessing children is a child centred deep dive which provides comprehensive insights of children, in particular children with the highest combined characteristics (HCC), those with greater barriers to learning. Dynamic assessment skills are essential to assess the needs of vulnerable children, conduct quality assurance, gather evidence to drive whole school improvements and to detect root causes of persistent disruption. Missing Session 1 or 2 will create a gap in adaptive teaching knowledge.
