The five stages break down the process teachers conduct to deliver adaptive teaching:

Stage 1 – identifies the needs of the class & children with barriers to learning
Stage 2 – assesses the more complex needs of children
Stage 3 – whole class adaptations
Stage 4 – one to one adaptations
Stage 5 - recording and reporting to escalate concerns
